A 5-4-3 Double Play

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was the clear winner of our first reader poll. Make sure you vote in our new poll and answer the question: Who will be the next James Bond?

I'm lamenting the fact that my 'Horns aren't on television today so I decided to update the blog while I listen to the game on the radio. Can you listen to your favorite football team online for free? I can't. The flagship station AM 1300 The Zone shuts down their live feed during the game so The University of Texas can charge. So, I'm listening to it on a local station instead annoying my wife because she can't watch anything on television.

Roberto Benigni's quest to find his wife (Nicoletta Braschi) will leave the concentration camp and move through time and space to the Iraqi Desert for The Tiger and the Snow. It
sounds like he will be recycling his Life is Beautiful script to make some kind of political statement about the war in Iraq.

There's a raging debate about the rollout of Digital Cinema. Read all about it here.

Bond producers can't seem to get their act together. They still don't have a director, even though Quentin Tarantino has expressed his desire to direct the 21st episode of 007. Pierce Brosnan want Tarantino but Brosnan doesn't seem to be very important because he probably won't be returning for another film. Begging the question again--who will be the next James Bond?

Mel Gibson has had a some trouble with a prayerfully obsessed man. This guy could give the Apostle Paul a run for his money at "praying without ceasing."

Here's a Marlee Matlin flick that's trying to bust out the way Napoleon Dynamite did.

The Farrelly Brother's have been shooting what could become the quintessential film about those perennial losers, The Boston Red Sox. We'll see. Fever Pitch, starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore, is actually a remake of a sweet little Colin Firth film released back in 1997 about a totally obsessed Arsenal fan who gets sidetracked from English football a bit when a romantic interest enters his life. I'd give the original high marks with a MATINEE rating. Both films are based on Nick Hornby's autobiography of the same name.

At last we have some kind of news about news about X3. Simon Kinberg has been tapped to write a script.

Cameron Diaz will get her day in court as John Rutter faces charges that he forged her signature for the release of risqué photos he snapped of her years ago.

William Shatner's comeback seems to have no boundaries. He also seems to have the Wrath of Con[man] in him.

Charlize Theron is back on the set of Aeon Flux after recovering from a neck injury.

And That's A 5-4-3 Double Play!
